Descrição: Clancy discusses adhesive as a key part of an architectural revolution. In any gallery description of a work of collage, there tends to be one aspect not mentioned - the glue that bonds it together. By their nature, adhesives reside in the interstices of things: in lamina and in between. No wonder that this might go under-examined. The intuitive response to the world seems to focus on the mechanical and assembled - on the things joined rather than the join itself.
