  • Descrição: The extent of urbanization in Yugoslavia is among the lowest in Europe; its slower development has allowed for a sociological planning of the process to some extent. Ur sociology has inherited existing problems & theoretical concepts that are resistant to change. Central to the problem is the traditional relation between content (man & society) & form (space) as the subject & object of architecture in Ur & spatial planning. The inherited one-sided approach, claiming that the content should be limited & isolated & turned into the form, has effectively separated man & society from a sense of social unity. Fetishism & functionalism in design, & automation in work situations have brought about conflict in society. Dialogue is necessary between Ur sociologists concerned with the content of space & architects viewing the form of space from outmoded perspectives. Modified HA.
