Descrição: Hayes architect Thomas O'Brien and his new forms for a typology of domestic architecture. Five years practicing as an architect, O'Brien is making a name for himself in the residential sector for his simple, almost austere, work. A recently completed project by O'Brien in Cavan, Killan Farmhouse is a building that can confuse the observer. It approaches the commonplace and idiosyncratic with subtle subversion; utilizing materiality, construction and form as the primary means by which an architecturally refined ordinariness is achieved.
