  • Descrição: In the context of the Epistemologies of the South, the sociology of absence and emergence is adopted to show the social movement articulated amongst women in the Brazilian blogosphere for humanizing childbirth. Anchored on the methodological strategic of the symbolic cartography, the analysis of blog Cientista Que Virou Mae elucidates how these activists are using those spaces in the pursuit of a more human and less violent childbirth assistance. It is concluded that Internet tools have allowed a pioneer mobilization in respecting women's reproductive rights in Brazil, turning those channels in virtually hegemonic as alternative ways for the feminine emancipation, as a whole, and for the rebirth of childbirth, in particular.
