  • Descrição: Objetivo: The exposure of pregnant rats to stress determines behavioral changes in pups at early and late stages of life. However, the role of perinatal stress exposure on the vascular reactivity is scarce in the literature. It was investigated the effects of the perinatal stress exposure on the aorta reactivity of young and adult female rats. Métodos e Resultados: Curves to noradrenaline (NA) were obtained in aorta, with (+E) and without (-E) endothelium, of female rats (6- and 14-week-old), exposed or not (control) to intrauterine stress (IUS, 1-h immobilization during pregnancy days 12-19). IUS did not alter the reactivity to NA of both aorta +E and -E from female rats at both ages. Maximum response (g of tension): [6- week-old +E: control 3.73 ± 0.17, IUS 3.75 ± 0.20; -E: control 5.40 ± 0.19, IUS 5.30 ± 0.20; 14-week-old +E: control 5.12 ± 0.15, IUS 5.06 ± 0.13; -E: control 6.65 ± 0.13, IUS 6.40 ± 0.21; n =6 - 7, P > 0.05 related to the respective control]. Conclusões: Differently from above reported to the behavior, the present data suggest that the cardiovascular system is less vulnerable to stress exposure during the intrauterine life.
