  • Descrição: This article analyzes trends in museum development & support, both financially & socially in various parts of Brazil. The article analyzes data from surveys of museum directors to determine if the trend of low museum attendance by the public is solely a Brazilian phenomenon & also why certain groups are visiting the museums & others are not. The article also discusses the placement of museums, a great percentage of which are in the wealthier South, & the type of people who attend the museums. The article discusses ways in which Brazilians express their historical heritage other than with museums. E. Miller
