Descrição: The article aims to analyze the diplomatic asylum case granted for Julian Assange by the Government of Ecuador in its diplomatic representation in the United Kingdom. This gave rise to considerable controversy between the two States on the current status of diplomatic asylum in international law, on the one hand Ecuador rejects to surrender Assange to the British authorities for his extradition, and on the other hand the United Kingdom refuses Julian Assange safe passage out of the country. Therefore, the present paper looks the two States' sides and arguments from the beginning of the case more than three years ago, passing by the subsequent developments and the possible solutions for the present situation, which seems still away to the end.
