  • Notas: Currently in Brazil is used the B5 fuel composed of 95% of diesel oil and 5% biodiesel. It has a mixture of alkanes, alkenes and aromatic compounds. The high sulfur content in the fuel determines Brazilian great cost to the public health system. There is a 1.5% increase in hospitalizations for ischemic disease heart in the elderly and more than 4% for lung diseases in children and the elderly. Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons derived refined petroleum products are ubiquitous environmental due contamination of soil arising from spills or leaks most inhibit factors to soil fertility, crop productivity may bio-accumulate in food chains thus causing carcinogenesis of some organs and mutagenesis in the genetic material. In this work, analyzed the novel alkane hydroxylase described for Pseudomonas nitroreducens registered in GeneBank as alkB gene (KJ023684.1). These analyses identified the protein described as alkane hydroxylase, superfamily and function, secondary structures, the phosphorylation sites, the protein GRAVY (grand average of hydropathy) and protein isoelectric point. The binding site is di-iron. This suggested that novel alkane hydroxylase deserve special attention to continue our work in situ, will be enzyme characterization and biosurfactants production or bioremediation have potential uses in environmental monitoring.
