  • Descrição: The study of leisure constraints seeks to understand the impact of leisure constraints on consumers. This study investigates the way in which people classified as low income use strategies to reduce the restrictions on leisure they face. Through semi-structured interviews, it is observed that: 1. There is a dose of pleasure in staying home or nearby, representative of leisure for this group. 2. The aspects that restricts the respondent's leisure is not limited solely to the lack of money. 3. Their own perception of what is a typical leisure in Rio may not correspond to their particular desired leisure, so that the consumer does not feel yourself restricted. 4. His main complaint was directed to the restrictions associated with travel. The respondents work in the city of Rio de Janeiro, live far from the main leisure areas of the city and take over an hour on their daily commuting. It was not identified characteristics of trading restrictions leisure (as a negotiation), as proposed in the literature, giving evidence that the respondents perceived the available leisure as positive and satisfactory.
