Descrição: This is an exhibition returning from abroad, an Exhibition that investigates the significance of the contemporary era in China.
In May 2008, at Instituto Valenciano de Arte Moderno (IVAM), Iberia Center for Contemporary Art organized the largest Chinese contemporary art exhibition ever held in Spain. The massive scale exhibition "55 days in Valencia: Chinese Art Meeting" showcased 448 pieces of artwork by 79 Chinese artists, encompassing a vast variety of medium including painting, photography, video, installation and sculpture. During the course of nearly two months, the exhibition attracted wide attention within Spain as well as from other countries in Europe
Sun Jianchun's China, 2006 was the largest and one of the most important pieces on display in the exhibition. It can be regarded as a meaningful gesture as the work is now brought back to China, where it was originally created, an will be exhibited in the year of 2009, the 60th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.
