  • Descrição: A three year grant-in-aid project to develop a database for cryogenic systems dedicated to superconducting magnets has been underway since 2004. The aim is to develop a database for superconducting magnets and dedicated cryogenic systems including cold boxes, compressors, other components and control systems. A failure triggered by radiation effects in semiconductors provided motivation to develop such a database so that failure information can be shared between laboratories. In 2004, we defined the concept and policy to open the database to the public. Database contents are divided into two parts: parameter information and failure information. The parameter information will be directly open to the public. However, due to it's sensitive nature, access to failure information will be carefully controlled via a two step process. We collected data from KEK and three other facilities in 2004. In 2005 and 2006 we plan to extend the collection of data to other facilities of various laboratories. We aim to open our database to the public through the WWW in March of 2007.
