Descrição: Adopting a perspective concerned with examining the representation of human milieux and their inhabiting in fiction, mesocriticism, this article will focus on the question of cohabiting in Melmoth Furieux, by the French writer Sabrina Calvo. It will be a question of bringing to light the fundamental opposition between devices of socio-spatial segregation characteristic of the architecture of contemporary physical and digital fortress, within which otherness is averted, on the one hand, and an organization from open sociality to social mix, on the other hand. From the first, there emerges a disciplinary grid that has the effect of alienating the inhabitants of a dystopian Paris, and from the second, the establishment of a solidarity network originating from a self-managed community, the fictitious Commune of Belleville.
