Theon of Alexandria was a Greek geometer and astronomer who lived in Alexandria in the fourth century ce . Of his life, we know almost nothing, except that he was the father of Hypatia, the famous feminist philosopher who was murdered in 415 by the Christian crowd, during a riot in Alexandria.
