Descrição: Treball de fi de grau en Traducció i Interpretació. Tutor: Josep Ramis. Josep Carner is one of the leading figures of the Catalan literature of the first half of the 20th century. Despite the fact that he is well-known, it is difficult to find translations of his poems into Spanish. That is why in this paper we have decided to translate some of his poems, so that non-Catalan speakers fully understand them and grow to appreciate this author. In order to justify the decisions, we have made when translating the poems, we present the information the following way: first, the original poem in Catalan; then, our interpretation, the commentary; next, the poem translated into Spanish, and, finally, the commentary of our translation. By doing so, the reader follows the whole process and understands why we have chosen a particular way of translating them. After all this work we have realized that translating poetry is a very difficult task, especially when it comes to authors of this kind, who prefer symmetrical and well-crafted poetry. However, although it is difficult, it is not impossible, and with this paper we would like to encourage other translations of this author.
