  • Descrição: Potten discusses the Treasures from the Thomas Edward Watson Collection at the Brotherton Library, University of Leeds. Watson's passions were hunting, breeding pedigree shorthorn cattle and his collection of early printed books and manuscripts, which contained copies of all four Shakespeare folios, several important quartos, incunabula, Byzantine, Ottoman, Persian and Middle English manuscripts, and some superb Western liturgical manuscripts. The inspiration for his collecting apparently came from teaching himself to read Latin and Greek, kindling an interest in the history of book production and use.
