  • Descrição: The paper is devoted to a theoretical analysis of the macroscopic mechanical characteristics of bimetallic sandwich-type composites manufactured by electron-beam additive technology (3D printing) with metal wires. The study was carried out by computer simulation using the finite element method. The results show the importance of taking into account the geometric characteristics (width) of interface zones between the layers in bimetallic composites. We empirically derived relation that provides an estimation of macroscopic strength of bimetallic sandwich-type samples manufactured by electron-beam additive technology with the use of two or more different metal filaments.
