  • Descrição: Frezzo points that these individual civil and political rights were established by the political documents created during the European Enlightenment, namely the US Declaration of Independence, the US Constitution, and the French Declaration of the Rights of Man and of Citizen.5 Importantly, these documents reflect the political and cultural viewpoints of their authors. Frezzo demonstrates how sustainable practices within international companies (e.g., The Body Shop and Starbucks) maintain the sociology of identity, culture, and human rights.8 The Body Shop and Starbucks achieve this by producing sustainable products which protect the environment, and also by improving the culture of the global locales with whom they engage in the course of doing business. Starbucks contributes to sustainable development by selling Fairtrade organic coffee, contributing to sustainable development for future generations, and reinforcing the shifting global consciousness that incorporates these ideologies with human rights. The peace process can sometimes be hindered due to different understandings. [...]Owing to differences in power and funding, purview, ideological orientation, and constituency, these entities often disagree about how to achieve positive peace in the real world."
