  • Descrição: Walgrave and Lesschaeve deal with one form of agreement between citizens and elites that has received ample attention, namely, voter-party opinion congruence. They assess the extent to which individuals vote for the party with which they agree the most. They only focus on the second determinant of voter-party opinion congruence, the degree to which citizens vote for the party with which they most strongly agree. They also determine whether--and how--voters manage to vote for the party with the most congruent policy preferences.
