Descrição: This research aims to discuss the psychosocial impacts of tourism in Diamantina, from the conception of cultural identity, more specifically, from the identity issues that arise in the contact of the local population with the tourist. The authors tried to focus on the elements and situations that confront or contrast significantly with the local way of life. To this end, they held a focus group with key representatives of the sectors linked to tourism in the city. The speeches indicated that residents perceive the impacts in a negative way, signaling situations of threat and aggression to the way of life, besides tourism is not the only vector of change of traditional identity.
