  • Descrição: Plasma luteinizing hormone (LH) concentrations were measured in juvenile pigeons (20–120 days of age) before and after the breaking of the voice. The level rose markedly just prior to voice breaking from about 1 to 2 ng/ml. This is consistent with the hypothesis that the breaking of the voice depends upon increased androgen secretion which is triggered by a rise in plasma LH concentration.
