If I were less ignorant, I could give a conspectus and history of revolutionary poetry; but I found that I didn’t know enough, and that when I faced up to the question I wasn’t even sure that I could identify revolutionary poetry or say whether (if there is such a thing) it was called revolutionary because of its nature or origins or motives or effects.
