Descrição: This paper presents a study based on the collection of samples from the typographic repertoire used in the commercial almanacs printed by Typographia Imparcial de Marques & Irmao between 1857 and 1862. The main purpose of the research was a better understanding of Sao Paulo visual culture. As a result, 11 typefaces were found, which allowed to verifying how the typographic repertoire of this printing shop evolved in 5 years.
