  • Descrição: Face expression and the body languages depict the individual's cheerful. Exploring of this can be based on the individual's evaluation of life-satisfaction. The study aims to explore psychosocial factors in relation to cheerful among undergraduate students studying at public and private higher learning institutions. The study was conducted from April-June 2004. Using a technique of face-to-face interview, as many as 750 students had been chosen to fill out a set of questions, consisted of 151 items developed by Edward Diener (2001) together with additional items measuring well-being, happiness and cheerful. This paper purposely analysed cheerful, life-satisfaction, affectivity and subjective well-being. Results have shown that material and social support, and affect positive significantly correlate with cheerful whilst PNG negatively correlates with affective negative. Emotions were significantly correlated with life satisfaction. Results were also found that the lecturer (social network) plays an important role in enhancing the students' cheerful when they were in tutorial classes and lectures. The focus group explained further that the lecturer openness and acceptance of their ideas and opinion added to their learning satisfactions.
