  • Descrição: This volume studies several neuroendocrine and genetic aspects of stress. The functional neuroanatomy of the stress response is reviewed as are the role of monoamine and neuropeptides in stress, neuroendocrine regulations and circuits, and interactions among various stress effector systems. Particular attention is paid to catecholamines among other neurotransmitters. The volume also discusses new discoveries in molecular biology and genetics of stress and stress responses. New techniques are introduced to investigate stress, especially the imaging of catecholamine systems in stress and disease. Finally, the clinical aspects of stress-induced changes in neurotransmitter and hormone systems are discussed.
