Description: Deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) is presented as a potential candidate to develop nanopackaging solutions in the field of microelectronics by a bottom-up approach. Such an approach could overcome the miniaturization limitations of the current top-down approaches. By its particular and unique properties of self-assembling and the capability to be functionalized, DNA is a versatile biological material that can be used in many different ways to build multiscale nanostructures and especially conductive nanowires (NWs). These NWs could be implemented as potential future nanoscale interconnections.
