  • Descrição: This article discusses the representation of space and urban architecture in Carlos Drummond de Andrade's work from the 1940s. Specifically, "Edifício São Borja" from A rosa do povo will be the object of study. I will attempt to understand how the lyrical subjectivity confronts the social-historical impasses that characterize the period in which the work was written, as well as how Drummond's poetry aims to politically engage with reality. The article also explores the rich dialogue between Drummond's works and Francisco Alvim's contemporary poetry.
