  • Descrição: Groundwater has always occupied a central position in the history of civilization. In the ancient Bible Lands, a well represented a continuous supply of good quality drinking and irrigation water — a base around which a settlement could grow. The control of strategic groundwater resources in the Levant has thus been a cause of strife between nations from the days of the Patriarchs to the present conflict between Israel and its neighbours.
