  • Descrição: JOÃO DA GAMA FILGUEIRAS LIMA was forty years old when he arrived in Salvador de Bahia in the early 1970s to build a series of administrative buildings on a new campus 10 miles (16 km) from downtown. Born in Rio de Janeiro in 1932, “Lelé” (as he is known in Brazil) had already amassed experience as a designer and builder. After graduating from the Faculdade Nacional de Arquitetura (now the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro) in 1955, he went to work for Oscar Niemeyer in the construction of Brasília. as early as 1957, Filgueiras lima started experimenting with prefabrication
