  • Descrição: Results of calibration tests of Mach number and heat flux profiles in the test section of a new wind tunnel, AT-303, based at ITAM (Novosibirsk), are presented. The wind tunnel produces a pure flow with full-scale Reynolds numbers for running times from 40 to 200 ms with constant parameters. This allows separation of viscous and real gas effects within the Mach number range from 8 to 20. The Mach number and heat flux profiles measured at the nozzle exit of AT-303 (M=9.45) are compared with those obtained in the HEG shock tube with a free heavy piston (M=9.75). Despite large differences in stagnation enthalpies and running times, the relative distributions of Mach numbers and heat fluxes almost coincide. This makes it possible to compare the test results for reference models in these wind tunnels in the future. For the AGARD reference model HB-2, heat flux distributions along the upper and lower generatrices of the model are obtained. A comparison shows that they are almost identical.
