Highlights • Mfn2 immunostaining is significantly associated with tumour size and TNM stage. • Patients with HCC with lower Mfn2 expression had a poorer prognosis. • Mfn2 induces cells apoptosis, declined ER Ca2+ , and elevated mitochondrial Ca2+. • Heparin and RU360 can changeover the above results. • Mfn2 downregulates the expresion of MICU1 and MICU2.
