  • Descrição: It was shown that by changing the nature of the solvent (dioxane, acetonitrile, ethanol) and oxidant in the system FcCOCH 3 –HClO 4 –Ox (Ox = I 2 , p -benzoquinone) it is possible to regulate the competition of the processes of redox isomerization of ferrocenylcarbenium ion [FcC(OH)CH 3 ] + →[Fc + C(OH)CH 3 ] and oxidation of FcCOCH 3 , and their contribution to the total process of ferrocenium cation formation. The influence of each of the processes on the rate of the other leads to a decrease in the total rate of ferrocenium cation formation.
