  • Descrição: In this we examine an interactive situation where a teacher and a psychologist/research were talking about an everyday problem of the teacher, aiming to solve it. The teacher and the psychologist met in eight fortnight sessions, during about 2 hours each, where they discussed the teacher's problem. The sessions were audio-taped. After each session, the psychologist transcribed the tapes and organized the collected information in classes of verbnal contents. Then, the organized information was presented to the teacher during the next session. This procedure was repeated in all sessions, each one founding the next, until the problem was solved. The dialogues were examined in search of the changes in the cognitive character of the teacher's speech that could occur as a result of the verbal interactions with the psychologist. We found changes in the nature of the inferences mabe by the teacher going from the deductives, form to the inductive ones. We also found modifications at he level of abstractionn of the relationships between events of the phenomenon-theme. Finally, we established some relationships between these results and some functions of human languare, in a vygotskian perspective, focusing on the role of verbal interaction in the process of knowledge construction.
