  • Descrição: To analyze the structure of intermittency in the edge region of a jet, a statistical analysis of the fluctuations was used. The four parameters: laminar time, turbulent time, intensity, and “frequency” are presented by distribution functions. These distribution functions show a Rayleigh-type distribution with a maximum and an exponential tail. Also, they are of similar character and indicate a minimum size of the turbulent elements. The “frequency” follows the law τ ⋅U3/2, a result previously obtained for vortex-like structures in jets.
