Descrição: Steatite is a kind of soapy marl, or talk, sometimes white, at others green, or grey, and more rarely red or yellow. Its sp. grav. is from ... to 266. It is composed of silex, alumine, magnesia, oxide of won and water, but it varies in different localities. It is very common in Germany, in Cornwall, and it exists also in the western part of France.
