  • Descrição: Climatology as a discipline has increased tremendously in visibility over the past few decades. This evolution can be linked with historical developments of the discipline, aspects of which date back to around 1900, but the roots of some prominent current climate themes such as human‐induced climate change extend back centuries. Geographical climatology has evolved from a basic study of mostly climate description to one with an increased diversity in how it deals with climate data and observations, methods, interdisciplinary linkages, scale, and assessing climate–society relationships.
