  • Descrição: Diabetes mellitus has infected 422 million people across the globe. This high prevalence number needs attention from the world of education through the development of supplementary teaching materials for the digestive system. This research aimed to develop the supplementary teaching materials regarding the digestive system by studying antidiabetic food using the Peperomia pellucida plant. This research was conducted at SMA 4 State Senior High School in Gorontalo with a scale trial limited to ten students. The research method and teaching material supplement utilized ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation) model. The parameters studied were the validity test of supplementary teaching material by expert validators, practicality tests, and effectiveness tests. The results showed that the supplementary teaching material was declared to be valid by three expert validators with an average score of 90,10%. Practicality test scores from the results of student responses obtained 91.53% with very good criteria, class management 89.58% with very good criteria, student activity scores obtained 80% with very good criteria. The value of the effectiveness test based on the learning outcomes test that has been tested t-table obtained a significant value, namely P <0.5, while the results of the N-Gain analysis get an average score of 0.40 with moderate criteria. Thus, the supplementary teaching materials in the test that is limited to tens of students is suitable for the learning process at SMA 4 State Senior High School.
