Descrição: This paper examines the role of cultural opportunities of the urban environment in the formation of aesthetic orientations of the population. The article gives a brief analysis of the situation that has developed in recent years in the field of aesthetic education of the population both in the capital and in the small towns of the republic. As an example, emphasis is laid on the educationof student youth, from the point of view of the perspective of their social role as intellectuals - spiritual carriers of aesthetic values. The author considers the possibility of applying forms, methods, means of aesthetic education in an urban environment and draws attention to the need for a differentiated approach to various groups of the population on this issue. In particular, the possibility of using educational measures depending on age categories and youth subcultures is considered. The work emphasizes the importance of taking into account the means of modern mass media communication, as well as the inalienable unity of classical and mass art which are designed to form aesthetic values and knowledge in modern man.
