Descrição: As mentioned in the previous chapters, this book argues that modern Turkish theology is an extended and diverse tradition of meditation on the Islamic doctrine of God’s Oneness in the context of modernity. The first side of this doctrine of tevhid was taken up in Chapter 3, as it discussed how modern Turkish theology defines what is stable and unchanging about the world, and how human beings come to know this truth. The essential truth about the world upon which modern Turkish theology converges is the truth of the existence of the single, omnipotent and infinitely loving and compassionate God.
