  • Descrição: The Adagio's dramatic modulations are warmly shaped, as Chai makes Kuhlau's excellent keyboard writing fill out the palette, but when Krausz's eight-keyed flute holds long sustained notes, it sounds like she's blowing across coke bottles. (The title, which translates as "Cool, Not Warm" is a pun on Kuhlau's name.) It was the only time Beethoven met Kuhlau, who had challenged him to write a canon on the tones B-A-C-H. On the spot he created this 1:46 minutes for tenor, baritone, bass-baritone, flute, and piano in which the gorgeous voices of Jo o Moreira, Mattijs van de Woerd, and Marc Pantus, respectively, join with Krausz and Chai, making you long for more.
