  • Descrição: The monospecific genus Numaeacampa Gagnep. has been considered to be closely related to Codonopsis Wall. and Campanumoea Blume (Campanulaceae), treated as a synonym of Codonopsis, or excluded from the Campanulaceae due to its unusual features for that family (10-lobed calyx, apically poricidal anthers, stellate corolla). Morphological study and molecular phylogenetic analyses clearly show that Numaeacampa kerrii is misplaced in the Campanulaceae, and is actually Lycianthes lysimachioides (Wall.) Bitter (Solanaceae). As a result, the names Numaeacampa and Numaeacampa kerrii are here reduced to synonyms of Lycianthes (Dunal) Hassl. and Lycianthes lysimachioides respectively.
