  • Descrição: The fluorescence responses of hydrocarbon inclusions in calcite and dolomite cements are used to indicate the timing and longevity of oil migration in Great Oolite reservoirs of the Weald Basin of southern England. Oil migration and late stage calcite cementation were penecontemporaneous processes. The gravity of the included hydrocarbons increases towards the basin depocentre through the range of 20° to 40° API, reflecting the maturity of the source rocks. Reservoirs with a spread in the gravity of oil within inclusions were charged throughout source rock maturation. Those reservoirs with oil inclusions of a single gravity were charged in a discrete event.
