- The arrival of tourists and foreign investors in tourism in the region of Ouarzazate have long been implicitly conditioned by the elements of the special architecture present in this region. In fact, and in terms of actors, the tourism development of the Ouarzazate region is based on a triptych. Primarily it is about "tourists" who come specifically to discover a style of this architecture, then the arrival and installation of foreign investors in the buildings that are representing this architecture. And finally, local actors for whom these architectural representations have a new value, since they have been identified as heritage elements. This triptych revolves around the local heritage legacy. In this article, we limit our analyze to the ksours and kasbahs which had been more and more abandoned by their first inhabitants in favor of the new buildings. We will analyze the change of function of this earthen habitat that has changed function from housing to the reception of tourists and the accommodation. We will also examine the process of transformation of these earthen habitats and evaluate the hypothesis that the arrival of tourists and the way they perceive these buildings contribute to triggering the process of an "imported patrimonialization" of the architectural heritage that characterizes the region.
