Descrição: An investigation was undertaken on the influence of the drill point geometry on the cutting forces. A number of measurements were performed on a lot of nominally similar twist drills, and the results were compared with those of cutting tests made with these drills. The effects of several dimensional parameters were thus assessed, and the results were discussed in the light of an approximate analysis of the drill point geometry.
