  • Descrição: Transportation rules and regulations are designed to improve the efficiency of transportation systems while providing smooth operations with safety and security. Some of the rules and regulations were enacted a long time ago, but amended over time. While rail transportation regulations are quite mature and do not need much change, other regulations are just now being introduced or are expected to be introduced. For instance, drone delivery is forcing the creation of new rules and regulations. Transportation rules and regulations are important to know as they impact the performance of transportation systems. For example, a recent driving time limit allows a single driver to drive a maximum of 10hours followed by a 10hour break. This new rule has a significant impact on trucking companies in terms of cost and delivery window. Another recent trade agreement called USMCA will impact how companies in North America produce and ship their products.
