Descrição: A general overview of the activation of white phosphorus by main-group elements and compounds is given. This chapter focuses on recent developments in this field, especially the degradation of P4 under the maintenance of the P4 scaffold and the aggregation to form polyphosphorus units. Moreover, the degradation of P4 to form compounds containing a smaller number of P atoms is described.
