It is tempting to look into some of the choices of many painters of Hong Kong, such as the way they represent very personal memories belonging to this place and its culture,¹ to the expectations of the Post-’ 80s in Hong Kong, a generation of cultural and political activists who are trying to preserve their birthplace from the destructive impact of big business, including the land developers of Hong Kong, who have been responsible for the destruction of a large part of the architectural heritage of the former colony, and the growing influence of mainland China in the political affairs
