  • Descripción: Various production processes are known for the manufacturing of spherical grinding media. Different effects on mechanical properties of the beads and their influences on the milling process were studied. Choosing the optimal material for the grinding media plays a significant role regarding wear and, therefore, possible contaminations of the milling product. Different materials of common grinding media, such as YSZ and WC-YSZ, as well as a newly developed composite bead are presented. Correlations of bead diameter, bead material, and material densities are discussed. It is shown that considerations of the parameters are important for an optimal product performance and milling efficiency.
