  • Descrição: Grady Hedgespeth may well have landed his ideal job. Part banker, part politician, the former Dukakis staffer is leading BayBank's inner city branch expansion with his own brand of neighborhood activism. To Hedgespeth, this isn't just a matter of opening a few checking accounts; it's about rebuilding Boston. That's no slim charge. But those who know Hedgespeth, and the banking territory in Roxbury, Dorchester and Jamaica Plain, say he's equal to the challenge he took on five months ago. "Grady is the best possible person they could get to do that job," said Tom Schumpert, president of the Massachusetts Minority Enterprise Investment Corp. "BayBank's willingness to let him shape and lead their effort is encouraging." (excerpt)
