  • Descripción: Comment introducing several articles publishing new buildings that illustrate innovative approaches to cladding. As plan and section are frequently determined by the logistics of fast construction, the skin that envelops those spaces affirms the physical appearance of architecture and provides the key to character, performance and environmental behaviour. A number of factors including design, commercial opportunism and technology transfer have combined to transform and improve external building skins which now equate to between 10 and 20 per cent of total project cost.
